Luc Mehl is an outdoor instructor in Anchorage, Alaska. Luc has visited over 10,000 miles of Alaska by foot, packraft, ski, bike, and ice skate.

Luc's unique off-trail trip planning process was garnered during a decade of GIS and environmental data science work. Applying these technical tools to off-trail travel opened a wide world of possibilities.

Luc teaches swiftwater rescue, river safety, packrafting skills, and trip-planning workshops. Luc is the author of The Packraft Handbook, a 2021 National Outdoor Book Awards winner.
